Giovanna Buhl

Giovanna's favorite documentary is 1988's JOHN LENNON: IMAGINE, a biography that  evolves around the nearly 240 hours of film and videotape fortuitously taken by Lennon of his life.

In 1990, her parents came to live with her family.  She took care of them until they passed away.  This experience taught her how precious life is.  Now she takes care of the entire AboutFace team.

Instead of going away to school, Giovanna had to stay in her hometown of Milwaukee to take care of her family.  But she was able to attend the Milwaukee School Of Engineering where she studied industrial engineering, time and management, and accounting.

This background led to her working in the family business for 12 years and part-time for a CPA for 18 years.

In 1999, Giovanna left the family business and her part-time work for the CPA and went to work at Purple Onion, a commercial production company owned and operated by AboutFace founders David Dahlman, Steven D. Farr, and Barry Poltermann.

“I manage the office, personnel, payroll, and all of the bookkeeping and accounting procedures,” she says.  She also loves to cook, and often does so listening to favorite groups The Beatles and U2, or at times classical music.

That new full-time job with Purple Onion was a game changer.  And she’s been with the AboutFace guys ever since, keeping the AF ship sailing smoothly and taking care of the growing AboutFace family.
