John MurphyProducer John Murphy. Murphy is currently producing with Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling the independent feature film Broken Kingdom, starring Rachael Leigh Cook and Seymour Cassel.

He is also in production on a documentary currently entitled Kingdom Come, featuring a diverse group of Hollywood players including Sir Anthony Hopkins, Edward Burns, and Bruce Campbell.

Murphy recently served as executive producer of the acclaimed Warner Independent release Rock The Bells. Rock The Bells premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival and features such big hip hop names as Wu Tang Clan, Redman, and Dilated Peoples.

In November of 2007, The Life Of Reilly, a film Murphy co-produced featuring the late great Charles Nelson Reilly, was released in theatres nationwide.

Prior to working on those films, Murphy wrote and produced commercials for such clients as Disney and MSN, primarily through L’Orange, a leading commercial and new media production company he co-founded in 2004.

Before co-founding L’Orange, Murphy was head of development at Civilian Pictures, a boutique film finance and production company with such credits as Sundance Film Festival winner American Movie.

He began his career working for prolific, Academy Award winning producer Scott Rudin on such films as Shaft, Sleepy Hollow, and The Royal Tennenbaums.

Murphy is in post production on a high profile feature film documentary on the rough and tumble early days of stock car racing featuring legendary figures of the sport including Junior Johnson and Bobby Allison.

A graduate of New York University’s storied film program, Murphy holds a BFA in film and television from NYU and a Series 7 NASD brokerage license. An East Coast transplant, Murphy now calls Los Angeles his happy home.
